I had a lot of time to myself on the plane to San Diego, so I was thinking about the party. More Coconut rum, but this time better planned drinks. No Desert Islands! We'll pick up some other ingredients and make Mai Tai's and Bay Breezes and other tropical themed drinks. I think all the palm trees out here are going to my head. I've also had almost nothing but McDonalds and coffee all day. Maybe I can rip up one of these trees and take it on the plane? We could have our very own palm tree on the 6th Floor! I wonder if that would violate our lease...

So far my plane gets in early Friday, so I should be able to help you shop and cook. We should make chili, that's always fun for parties. I assume Mark's coming right? And Billy is bringing Janine? We'll have to try not to chase them off by having a party as dull as last years, although it is fun when it's just a few of us. I'm bringing back chocolates from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, but not for the party, just for us. I'm going to go get ready for my interview now, probably get some more coffee. I'll see you tomorrow.

mmm... chili.

*sighs wistfully* now if only i could find somewhere in japan that sells kidney beans. And those crunchy little oyster crackers :P

also, for some reason this post makes me think about that party in the opening scenes of Cloverfield where everyone is partying in a loft in new york and all of a sudden the monster attacks.

geeze Panda! Way to try to jinx our party! No Japanese style monsters attacked though, thankfully. I don't think Scott's that good with my digital camera.

You miss Kidney Beans and Oyster Crackers? Of all the things to miss..

haha sorry about that. I'm glad your party was not attacked by giganto space creatures :)

and yeah, after a few years, you start to miss the most random things in the world. Like last week I was at work and all of a sudden was struck a longing to have a few of those candy bracelets - you know, the kind with little candy circles on an elastic band you get at halloween?

the irony is, I would have gladly paid as much as $5 for one, but there were none to be found even at that price (I even made a trip to this big foreign supermarket to no avail). I suppose that contrasts to when I was a kid and they only cost like a buck a pack but I only had like 50 cents or so in my pocket.

Somewhere I think someone must be having a laugh at my expense lol
